Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Roblox's Verified Badge program and how it works.
What is a verified badge?
The Verified Badge is a visual indicator that allows users to easily identify notable and authentic creators, developers, groups and off-platform figures. The badge indicates that Roblox has confirmed that the account authentically belongs to the user or group it represents and that they meet Roblox's criteria for notability.
How can I tell if an account is verified?
You'll see the Verified Badge (blue checkmark) next to account names across Marketplace, user and group profile pages, item and experience detail pages, as well as in search. If a profile does not have the badge attached to their display name, but it appears somewhere else like in their bio or images, then it's not a verified account. Verified badges can only be granted by Roblox.
Why does Roblox have verified badges?
The verified badge is an easy way for users to know they're interacting with authentic developers, creators and off-platform figures. It provides an important layer of confidence and clarity, helping users identify notable and authentic profiles rather than impersonators, duplicates or fan accounts.
How do I qualify for a Verified Badge?
Accounts need to be Notable (widely recognized) to receive the badge. For Brands & Figures: 100K+ followers on a major social platform or 100K+ monthly Spotify listeners. For Experience Developers: owner or 10%+ payout of an experience with >1M playtime hours in 90 days. For Avatar Item Creators: 2M+ Robux revenue in 90 days with 200K+ items sold. You also need ID verification and Authenticator enabled.
How do I apply for the Verified Badge?
For Roblox creators, there is no official application process. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be notified and issued the badge. Badge issuance occurs once a month, so it may take a full month after meeting the criteria for the badge to appear. Brand partners should reach out to their Roblox partnership contact.
Will not having a badge impact my discoverability?
No, the Verified Badge will not impact search and recommendations for new or unverified creators. Your content visibility remains the same regardless of verification status.
Can I lose the Verified Badge?
Yes. Violations of Community Standards and Terms of Use can lead to badge removal. The badge is also disabled if you: remove 2-step verification, change your username or display name, change your group's name or change the group's owner. Selling or spoofing the badge also makes you ineligible.
What if I don't want the badge?
Your badge will automatically be revoked if you change your display name or username or if you disable Authenticator on your account.
